Kiran Gandhi, who performs as Madame Gandhi, is an award-winning artist and activist known for her uplifting, percussive electronic music and message of personal power. Her sound lives where ambient and New Age meet percussion-forward electronic production — live drums and hand percussion layered with granular synthesis, stacked vocals and field recordings from the Arctic, Antarctica and the Amazon, always in service of joy, modern feminism and personal power.

She began producing in 2015 after her London Marathon free-bleeding story went viral, challenging menstrual stigma worldwide.

She has played percussion onstage for 7x GRAMMY®-winning producer Brian Eno at Wembley Arena, and is the former drummer for GRAMMY®-nominated artist M.I.A. She has received the Songwriters Hall of Fame Abe Olman Prize and a SXSW Grand Jury Award for Best Music Video — the first Indian-origin artist and director to win it — and has been recognized as a TED Fellow with a mainstage talk surpassing one million views, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Music and BBC 100 Women. She is a 2026 Alicia Keys "She Is The Music" Vanguard Honoree and a 2026 Billboard Culture Shifter FEMMY Nominee.

Her most recent album is Ektā (2026), a collaboration with GRAMMY®-winning producer Antaeus, Café De Anatolia and Amani Sol that takes its name from the Sanskrit word for oneness and explores spirituality, mindfulness and our shared humanity. Ektā reached #1 on the iTunes New Age charts in the USA and India. It follows Love Letters From Brooklyn (2026), a five-track project written at a women-led songwriting camp with Gender Amplified, and Let Me Be Water (2025), an ambient New Age record composed with 40 women and gender-expansive creatives at We Make Noise and built around her glacier recordings.

While completing her master's at Stanford, she traveled to Antarctica to record melting glaciers, using sound to inspire empathy around climate change. She partnered with EarthPercent's Sounds Right program to credit NATURE as an artist on her music, redirecting streaming royalties to nature conservation.

Gandhi holds a bachelor's degree in math and women's studies from Georgetown, magna cum laude (2011), an MBA from Harvard Business School (2015), and a master's in Music, Science and Technology from Stanford (2022).

Today she performs and speaks internationally, with over 650 performances across a decade-long career, spanning 36 countries and all seven continents, using her music as a message for gender liberation, sustainability and thriving.
